Surf Conditions
Surf Zone Forecast for Oahu
Hazards
No high surf advisory or warnings.
Forecast
Surf along north facing shores will be 4 to 8 feet tonight, lowering to 3 to 5 feet Sunday.
Surf along west facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet tonight, lowering to 1 to 3 feet Sunday.
Surf along east facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet through Sunday.
Surf along south facing shores will be 2 feet or less through Sunday.
Outlook
Outlook through Saturday January 26: A series of overlapping northwest swells is expected during this upcoming week. The first swell will produce moderate surf below advisory levels Monday and Tuesday. The next swell will arrive late Tuesday and result in surf well above advisory levels and may reach warning levels for north and west facing shores Tuesday night through Thursday. As this swell slowly declines Thursday, several reinforcing northwest swells are expected towards the end of the week. Short period wind swell from the east will produce a small bump in east shore surf this weekend, with another increase possible around Wednesday.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
