Surf Conditions
Surf Zone Forecast for Oahu
Hazards
No high surf advisory or warnings.
Forecast
Surf along east facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet tonight, increasing to 4 to 6 feet Tuesday.
Surf along south facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet tonight through Tuesday.
Surf along west facing shores will be 1 to 3 feet tonight through Tuesday.
Surf along north facing shores will be 2 feet or less tonight through Tuesday.
Outlook
Outlook through Monday July 23: Locally breezy trade winds will continue to produce rough and choppy surf along east facing shores for the next few days. A boost in the trades will come around Wednesday as a low pressure area passes to the south of the islands. Surf for east facing shores may reach near advisory levels by midweek. A series of reinforcing south and southwest surf will keep small to moderate surf along south facing shores. A slightly larger and longer period south swell is forecast to bump surf up along south facing shores to near advisory levels this coming weekend. Elsewhere, no significant surf is expected.
Surf heights are forecast heights of the face, or front, of waves. The surf forecast is based on the significant wave height, the average height of the one third largest waves, at the locations of the largest breakers. Some waves may be more than twice as high as the significant wave height. Expect to encounter rip currents in or near any surf zone.
